SUNSET COMMITTEE CONCLUDES THE BOARD UNFAIRLY PENALIZES NURSES FOR CONDUCT UNRELATED TO NURSING

The Board of Nursing underwent review by the Sunset Advisory Commission during the 85th legislative session, and it was determined that SIGNIFICANT CHANGES be implemented to the Board of Nursing’s rules.

Most notably, the Sunset Advisory Committee directed the Board of Nursing to limit disciplinary action to crimes directly related to the practice of nursing. If you are under investigation or have an Agreed Order for a crime that does not directly pertain to the practice of nursing, call us. It may be possible to use the Sunset Committee’s direction to eliminate any discipline imposed for acts unrelated to the practice of nursing.
